Delete your account

In the app

1. Open the Profile tab and tap the settings icon.
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
3. Confirm. Your account is deleted the moment you do.

By email

If you can't sign in, email support@votails.com with the subject line Delete My Account and the phone number on the account. Because a Votails account is identified only by its phone number, we confirm the request by texting a one-time code to that number before deleting. Requests are completed within 7 days, usually the same day.

Delete some of your data without deleting your account

Most of your data can be removed one piece at a time, inside the app, and each removal is immediate:

• Photos: Profile → Edit Profile → tap a photo → Remove. Photos leave storage and the content delivery network at once.
• Prompts, bio and profile details: Profile → Edit Profile. Clearing a field removes it.
• Pets: Pets tab → open the pet → Delete.
• Linked Apple or Google sign-in: Profile → Settings → Sign-In Methods → Unlink. The provider's email address is removed with the link.
• Conversations: unmatching ends the match; the conversation is no longer visible to either person.
• Verification result: removed with your account; selfies are never stored.

For anything else, email support@votails.com with the subject line Data Deletion Request and the phone number on the account. We confirm by texting a one-time code to that number and complete the request within 7 days. Anonymized anti-abuse records and data we must keep by law are the only exceptions.

What is deleted

• Your photos, removed from storage and from the content delivery network.
• Your phone number and any linked Apple or Google sign-in, released from the account.
• Your profile, pets, prompts, preferences, likes and maybes.
• All of your matches end, and your messages disappear from every other person's view at the same moment.
• Your verification result. Verification selfies are never stored in the first place.
• Your registered devices, so no further notifications are sent.

What remains

An anonymized record with no name, photos, phone number, messages or profile content, kept only so that bans stay enforceable and promotional programs can't be gamed by deleting and re-creating accounts. Encrypted backups that may contain a copy of your data age out within 30 days. Crash reports already sent to our error-reporting service are kept for 90 days and contain no personal information beyond an internal identifier that no longer refers to any account.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your Apple Account or Google Play subscriptions first if you don't want it to renew. If you sign in again later with the same phone number, you start a brand-new account.
